Lockdownuniversity.org is a web site (the “Site”) owned by Aston Investment Holdings Limited (“Lockdown University,” “we,” “us,” etc.), existing under the laws of the British Virgin Islands. Lockdown University is committed to the lawful and transparent collection and use of data you provide to us through interaction with our Site. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains what information we collect and why we collect it, how we use that information, and your options for controlling and updating your information.

By visiting our Site, you agree to be legally bound by this Policy and the Terms of Use. If you do not agree to this Policy or cannot form a legally binding contract, you may not use this Site.

Lockdown University collects, stores, uses and processes personal information in accordance with this Policy and the legislative and regulatory requirements in force from time to time and applicable to it relating to the collection, storage, use and processing of personal data including the General Data Protection Regulation ((EU) 2016/679) (“GDPR”), the British Virgin Islands Data Protection Act No 3 of 2021 and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, in force from 1 September 2023, and any successor legislation (together the “Applicable Data Protection Laws”). Lockdown University processes personal information as a “Controller” or “data controller” as these terms are defined in the Applicable Data Protection Laws).

Information Collected

This Site collects two types of information from you (1) personal information voluntarily provided by you (“Personal Information”), and (2) non-identifying data about your use of our Site (“General Information”). We do not collect Personal Information unless you choose to provide it to us.

Personal Information

It is always your choice, or the choice of anyone acting for you, whether to provide Personal Information. However, some information must be provided to participate in certain programs or activities so the decision not to provide information might limit or eliminate certain functions of the Site or the ability to participate. Lockdown University may collect the following Personal Information from you, for example, through our Site’s email links / contact form:

  • Name
  • E-mail address
  • Country


How Information is Used

In general, we use Personal Information we collect from these forms for the purpose for which it was collected.

Personal Information may be disclosed to trusted persons working together with Lockdown University if they are involved in the completion, delivery or customer support of the services offered through the Site. Examples include third parties who assist in hosting our web servers, analyzing data and providing customer service. We also may share aggregated anonymous information about visitors to the Site with third parties so that they can understand the kinds of visitors to the Site and how those visitors use the Site.

By utilizing the Site, or expressly opting in when presented with choices, you have consented for us to use your information, subject to local law, in at least the following ways: to contact you about any Site updates or service-related issues, including important security updates; to provide you additional communications, information, and promotions such as newsletters; to provide the services requested by you or to fulfill the purpose for which you provide it; in other ways we may describe when you provide the information or later consent; to enable you to provide feedback, to contact us and for us to respond to you; and to generate internal reports about the use of our Site.

We disclose information if legally required to do so or if requested to do so by a governmental entity.

We may disclose and transfer such information to a third party who acquires all or a substantial portion of Lockdown University’s business, whether such acquisition is by way of merger, consolidation or purchase of all or a substantial portion of our assets. In addition, in the event Lockdown University becomes the subject of an insolvency proceeding, whether voluntary or involuntary, Lockdown University or its liquidator, administrator, receiver or administrative receiver may sell, license or otherwise dispose of such information in a transaction approved by the court.

In each of these situations, the recipients of your data may potentially be located in countries whose data protection legislation is different from your country. If you are a resident in any EU member state, for example, you must be aware that the EU authorities do not generally consider that the regulations of non-EU countries ensure an adequate or equivalent level of protection as compared to the EU data protection regulations.

Public Posting of Personal Information

Please remember that any information you share in public areas, such as message boards or feedback sections, becomes public and may be collected and used by others over whom Lockdown University has no control. This Policy does not apply to any information that you choose to make public. Accordingly, please be careful about what you publicly disclose, and do not post any Personal Information that you expect to keep private.

How Long We Keep Personal Information

Typically, we keep Personal Information as long as you are actively accessing the Site and using its services and after the end of that relationship for as long as necessary to perform purposes set out in this Policy, to protect Lockdown University from legal claims and administer our business. Lockdown University will perform periodic checks for inactivity and remove your information when it is determined that you have been inactive for at least one year. When we no longer need to use Personal Information, we will delete it from our systems and records or take steps to anonymize the data unless we need to keep it longer to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation.

General Information

Lockdown University automatically collects General Information about which of our or our affiliates’ Sites you visit and how you navigate them using tracking technologies, including small text files called “cookies” and electronic images known as “web beacons.”

The information collected via cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies is anonymous and not personally identifiable.

General Information may include, without limitation, your:

  • Internet Service Provider (ISP)

  • Browsing behavior, including pages visited, hyperlinks clicked, session times and search requests.


We use this general information to help diagnose problems with the Site and to administer our Site. We may also share it with our business partners or third parties so that they may provide us reports and analysis regarding usage and browsing patterns of the Site.

Cookies

Like many websites, we use “cookies,” which are small text files that are stored on your computer or equipment when you visit certain online pages that record your preferences. We use cookies to track use of our Site and online services. We may also use cookies to monitor traffic, improve the Site and make it easier and/or relevant for your use, by for example, allowing you to visit any member-only parts of the Site or content without re-registering. A web beacon or flash cookie (also known as “action tags,” “tracer tags” or “single-pixel gifs”) is an invisible graphic on a web page or e-mail newsletter that is programmed to collect non-personally identifiable information about your use of a given website or newsletter, e.g. whether you opened the e-mail. Like cookies, web beacons allow Lockdown University and its technology providers to summarize overall usage patterns for our analysis and provide personalized services to you. We do not share or provide Personal Information we may collect through such web beacons, such as names or e-mail addresses without your express permission.

Updates and Corrections

You may have access to, review, correct, update, restrict the use of, change or delete your account profile information or other Personal Information with Lockdown University at any time. Such steps may be done by contacting Lockdown University at info@lockdownuniversity.org. You also may obtain, upon request, the Personal Information you provided to us in a structured, commonly-used and machine-readable format. Before providing you with a copy of your Personal Information or correcting, updating or deleting such information, we reserve the right to verify and authenticate your identity and the Personal Information to which you have requested access.

If you delete or close your account or account profile information with Lockdown University altogether, Lockdown University may retain an archival copy which is not accessible by you or third parties on the Internet. The archival copy is retained only for as long as Lockdown University reasonably considers necessary for audit and record purposes. We will retain logs, demographic, indirect, and statistical information about you and keep an archival copy of this information in an anonymous form. We will also retain aggregate anonymized information. If your Personal Information was previously accessed by others using our Site, we are not able to delete the information or copies thereof from their systems.

Your Rights Under the GDPR and Applicable Data Protection Laws

In accordance with Article 77 of the GDPR individuals in the EU also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular, in the Member State of your habitual residence or place of work of an alleged infringement of the GDPR. Individuals in countries outside the EU have similar rights under the Applicable Data Protection Legislation.

Our Site may include links to third-party sites, apps and social media platforms (“Third Party Sites”). Clicking on those links may allow third parties to collect or share data from you. We do not endorse or control Third Party Sites, each of which may be governed by its own terms of service and privacy policy, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies and terms so that you understand how they process information about you. You agree that Lockdown University, its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents and other partners and employees have no liability, obligation or responsibility for your interaction with or use of Third Party Sites.

Children

We do not want to collect information from children. Do not provide any Personal Information unless you are at least 16 years of age, and please caution your children not to provide any. If a child under 16 has provided Personal Information, a parent or guardian may so inform us by writing us at info@lockdownuniversity.org and we will use commercially reasonable efforts to delete it from our database, subject to applicable law and this Policy.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the Personal Information received from our users from unauthorized use or disclosure. This Site has security measures in place to protect loss, misuse, and/or alteration of such information under our control. However, we do not guarantee the security of your General or Personal Information. In addition, we do not assume any liability for third party use of your General or Personal Information, whether obtained legally or illegally from or through this Site. Please consider this prior to submitting Personal Information to us via this Site.

Changes to our Policy

We reserve the right to modify or amend the terms of this Privacy Policy from time to time for any reason. Lockdown University will notify you about significant changes by providing a prominent notice on the Site. The changes will be effective as of posting on the Site. Your continued use of our Site following the posting of changes to this Privacy Policy indicates you accept those changes.
