Summary
Two kibbutznik brothers walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee found a small piece of wood protruding out of the sand. When Israel’s Inspector of Underwater Antiquities came to examine it, he was sceptical. He had never probed an ancient wreck in the Sea of Galilee—because the sweet-water lake was not an environment where an ancient wreck could survive. But the piece of wood turned out to be part of a carbon-dated 2,000-year-old fishing boat …
