How to watch

This lecture starts on 14 September at 5:00pm (UK).

Summary

After fleeing from German-occupied Alsace to Paris in 1871, the family firm of Kraemer became the world’s most celebrated dealers in 17th and 18th century French furniture and decorative arts, supplying all the great museums in the world. Theirs is an extraordinary story of ambition, resilience, survival, and renewal after Nazi persecution. In this talk we take a tour of the palatial premises of the Galerie Kraemer on the Parc Monceau in Paris.
