The Great Jewish Cities: Breslau
How to watch
Summary
Breslau (Wrocław) was once home to Germany’s third-largest Jewish community. Never was the symbiosis of Jewish and German culture more acute. A borderland city, it was a hub of German nationalism. This two-part presentation examines the story of the Jews who called it home, including some extraordinary world-changing individuals like Fritz Haber, Paul Erlich, Fritz Stern, and the controversial Edith Stein.
